Domestic vs International — Key Differences
Domestic travel insurance is primarily useful for flight cancellations, baggage loss on flights, accidental injuries, and emergency hospitalisation during the trip. Medical limits are in INR.
International travel insurance is essential — a single hospitalisation in the US can cost $50,000+. Schengen visa applicants must have minimum €30,000 medical cover. Always read exclusions: adventure sports, alcohol, pre-existing conditions often excluded unless declared.
